Moving On

I once trusted in your love
But it was really my own that I saw
In you I called out no flaw
Said yes as you gave me your word

So happy when I saw our son
Your betrayal I was yet to learn
My heart as a toy you coldly saw
In your hands that you liked to drop

The mistreatment I begged you to stop
While you said that it turned you on
In time I learned how to be strong
After healing the wounds that you caused

Through release, the baggage is now gone
Realizing I am worthy of much more
Now you call, just to hear my voice
I reject it because I've had enough

To not trust you I was always told
Surely turned into a lesson learned
Said marriage while you called me your girl
Behind my back you roamed like a dog

Without me you now feel all lost
Deep regret is tainting your core
Tell the truth so that you can grow
You may hide but not for too long

The yearning for you is finally all gone
Nothing missing when I am already whole
Threw out the key after I closed that door
I'm much better standing on my own

A healed man is what I truly deserve
Divine warrior who mirrors my soul
One bright flame in a precious bond
Sacred union that surpasses all.
